US President Barack Obama is considering expanding the number of training sites for Iraqi forces to bolster the battle against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), US military officials said on June 9, which could mean deploying hundreds more US forces in Iraq.
Turkish citizens in the U.S. began voting at polling stations inside the Turkish Embassy in Washington and consulates across the country on May 16, for the upcoming June 7 elections.
Some 14,000 Turkish citizens are eligible to vote in Washington D.C., while the overall number of registered Turkish voters in the U.S. is about 90,000.
Turkish Airlines (THY), Turkey's national flag-carrier, will begin direct flights to Miami on Oct. 25, the company announced on May 13.
The move makes Miami the company's 12th destination in the Americas, on top of existing services to Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Toronto, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Washington, Boston, Montreal and San Francisco.
