West Seeks Way Out of Iraq Crisis as US Carries Out Strikes

Western countries are concentrating their diplomatic effort in Iraq's capital Baghdad, in a push to stop the Sunni insurgents called Islamic State.

France's Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius has urged that a "broad unity government" be forged in the country to combat the militants while on a visit to Baghdad, France 24 quoted him as saying.

BELGRADE -- Foreign Minister and Ivica Dačić said on Wednesday that Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić would meet with top Russian officials in Moscow next week.

Microsoft Programming Competition Gaining Popularity in Bulgaria

One of the most prestigious global programming and IT students' competitions, "Imagine Cup", will be organized for a 12th consecutive year by Microsoft.

This year, 15 Bulgarian teams are participating in the local round of the competition, with the top 3 making it to the final in Redmond, Washington, Dariknews revealed.

14 Dead, 170 Missing In Washington State Mudslide

Fourteen people are confirmed dead and 176 are still missing in the weekend mudslide outside of Seattle, Washington.  

The number of confirmed deaths rose after six more bodies were recovered Monday. Authorities are still seeking those unaccounted for, but they expect the death toll could rise. 

Many people are also critically injured and 30 homes have been destroyed.
