Israel says cracks first local ISIL cell
Israel said on Jan. 18 it had cracked the first Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) cell on its soil, made up of seven Arab citizens who would be prosecuted on charges of planning attacks in the Jewish state and communicating with the insurgent group in Syria.

Abbas to visit Turkey next week: Diplomat
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas will visit the Turkish capital of Ankara on Jan. 12 to discuss the repercussions of the U.N. Security Council's failure to adopt a draft resolution setting a deadline for the ending of Israeli occupation, a Palestinian diplomat has said.
