The General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks (DKMP) of the Agriculture and Forestry Ministry has successfully relocated red deer from the northwestern province of Bursa to the Salda Lake region in the southern province of Burdur.

With lavender production in Türkiye expanding to an area of 20,000 decares, the country has become able to meet its annual lavender oil needs, according to Öztürk Sarıca, a vet and the founder of a local nature organization which established Türkiye's largest lavender field.

Construction works on the beach of a famous lake, which has been reputed as "Turkey's Maldives" its white sand and clear water, have sparked public fury, prompting actin from the government.

The comapnyi, which undertook the construction of a public garden in Salda Lake in the southern province of Burdur's Yeşilova district, used its heavy machinery on the beach, damaging the sand.

Environment and Urbanization Minister Murat Kurum has said that a planned park project around Lake Salda in the southern province of Burdur's Yeşilova district will not consist of any construction, vowing to protect the natural beauty of the lake.

Activists and the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSİ) are in a disagreement over the fate of an artificial pond established on water resources nourishing the Salda Lake in Turkey's southern province of Burdur's Yeşilova district.
