Two minor historical artifacts have been found in an excavation that started last year in the southern province of Mersin, according to expert reports, daily Habertürk has reported.
Dutch man found dead in Turkey's south after 37 days missing
A Dutch national who was reported missing over a month ago was found dead on Aug. 14 in the Silifke district of the southern province of Mersin, Doğan News Agency has reported.
Joey Hoffman, 22, his Dutch friend Björn Breukers, and his wife Derya Ün Breukers, from Mersin's Tarsus district, came to the Narlıkuyu region in July to buy land and also to have a vacation.
22-year-old Dutch tourist goes missing in Turkey's south
A Dutch tourist went missing in the Silifke district of the southern province of Mersin where he was holidaying, Doğan News Agency has reported.
The 22-year-old man identified as Joey Hoffman had come to the country for vacation in early July with two of his friends, travelling around Mersin and the neighboring Adana province with a rented car.

Turkish Interior Ministry suspends three mayors from duty
The Interior Ministry suspended the mayors of the southern province of Adana's Ceyhan district, the Central Anatolian province of Kasyeri's Sarıoğlan district and Ankara's Ayaş district on June 16 as part of ongoing judicial and administrative investigations, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
Taking advantage of Turkey's state of emergency
A police operation in relation to the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) was conducted at the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality in southern Turkey and 25 people were detained on Aug. 2, 2016. The same day, police came to the Ankara home of Erkan Karaarslan, one of the advisors of Mersin Mayor Burhanettin Kocamaz from the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP). They searched the house.
