Giant wall on Syrian border changes life for Turkish villagers

A wall that has been built on Turkey's border with Syria has changed the lives of many villagers in the area, with many of them describing drastic differences in their daily lives after the construction of the wall. 

The authorities say the construction of a 700-kilometer wall on the Syrian border aims to block terrorist infiltration and prevent illegal entry and exit from Turkey. 

48 PKK militants 'neutralized' last week as Turkish military continues airstrikes

Some 48 militants of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) were "neutralized" in a series of operations last week, according to a statement released by Turkey's Interior Ministry on June 5, while military airstrikes destroyed two PKK shelters and one ammunition depot in northern Iraq late on June 4. 

54 PKK militants 'neutralized' in security operations last week

A total of 54 outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants were "neutralized" in security forces operations across Turkey over the past week, the Interior Ministry stated on May 29.

Authorities use the word "neutralized" in their statements to imply the militants in question were either killed, wounded or captured.
