Emergency situation in several regions due to flooding
An emergency situation has been declared in Cacak, Topola, Bajina Basta, Pozega, Novi Pazar, Arilje and Lucani, due to heavy rain and flooding.
In Bajina Basta, western Serbia, landslides have been activated, with several homes submerged in water, and roads damaged.
"Municipal polygraph" proposed to tackle lying politicians
The Municipal Assembly in Gornji Milanovac, a town in central Serbia, is considering a proposal "to urgently acquire a lie detector."
The request states that the money should be provided from the municipal budget reserves, and that the purpose of the acquisition would be "to decrease all sorts of lies."
Wax figures of Vucic and Dacic to be added to local museum
Wax sculptures representing Serbia's prime minister and his first deputy, Aleksandar Vucic and Ivica Dacic, will be on display in in the own of Jagodina.
They will be added to the local wax museum's collection - but only "after the election."
Parents die, their three children injured in car crash
A married couple have died while their three children were injured when their car for as yet unknown reasons swerved off the road and into a stream.
The accident happened on Sunday afternoon on the Jagodina-Kragujevac road in central Serbia, state broadcaster RTS is reporting.
Serbian Town Pays Tribute to Putin in Wax
A wax effigy of Vladimir Putin will go on show in the Wax Museum in Jagodina in early March, standing next to sports star Novak Djokovic, the scientist Nikola Tesla and late Yugoslav strongman, Josip Broz Tito.
Dragan Markovic, president of the local assembly of Jagodina, told BIRN that Putin's wax figure was ready and he hoped Russian diplomats would come and see it unveiled.

Temperature drops to -30 degrees in SW Serbia town
Sjenica - a municipality on the Pester Plateau in southwestern Serbia - on Wednesday morning reported the temperature of minus 30 degrees Celsius.
This made it one of the coldest towns today in the country, but also in the region.

Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said in Jagodina that "Serbia's place is in the EU - but it must also nurture friendly relations with Russia and China."
Italy donates EUR 800,000 for flood defense systems
The Italian government will donate EUR 800,000 for works on flood defense systems in Loznica, Krupanj, Osecina and Kladovo.
The agreements on the donation were signed by Italian Ambassador to Serbia Giuseppe Manco and representatives of the companies that won the tender Jugokop Podrinje, Vodoprivreda Pozarevac and Erozija Valjevo
Islamic symbols sprayed on Novi Pazar churchyard gate
The churchyard gate a Serbian Orthodox church in Novi Pazar, sioutwestern Serbia, was sprayed with the symbol of crescent moon and star by unknown perpetrators.
The incident at the Church of St. Nicholas (Sv. Nikola) "most likely on Monday to Tuesday night," Tanjug said.
Professor gives away his book to students
Veroljub Dugalic has been presenting copies of his book “The Fundamentals of Stock Exchange Operations” as gifts to his students for the past ten years.
Dugalic teaches at the Kragujevac Faculty of Economy.
