RSD 60 million in aid for 22 municipalities hit by floods
BELGRADE - A total of RSD 60 million in aid will be given to repair the damage caused by floods in 22 municipalities, the Serbian governmentt committee for assessment of damage caused by natural disasters said on Thursday.

BELGRADE -- Andreja Mladenović said on Wednesday that the DSS will be part of the ruling majority and back the SNS candidate for mayor of Belgrade.
Mladenović heads the councilor so f the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) in the Belgrade City Assembly.

Jovicic: Name of candidate for mayor to be released Thursday
BELGRADE - The consultations concerning the future mayor of Belgrade and other members of the city administration will take place in the course of the day and the name of the candidate for the mayor will officially be made public on Thursday, caucus whip of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) in the Belgrade City Assembly Aleksandar Jovicic said.

Nikodijevic elected president of Belgrade city assembly
BELGRADE - Nikola Nikodijevic of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) was elected president of the Belgrade city assembly on Wednesday, by the votes of 84 assembly members.
A total of 102 out of 110 assembly members cast their votes for the new city assembly president.
After the election, Nikodijevic assumed the role of chairman of the constitutive meeting.
Awards handed out to best young scientists
BELGRADE - The International conference of young scientists, which was a major success for the Belgrade 2 Regional Talent Centre, ended on Tuesday with an award ceremony.
The conference involved young scientists from 18 countries worldwide, including Germany, Russia, Lithuania, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Turkey, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Singapore and Indonesia.

Around 5,000 hectares of arable land flooded
BELGRADE - Around 5,000 hectares of agricultural land in Serbia have been fully or partially flooded, but the torrential floods should leave no long-term consequences on the land affected, Serbia's Minister of Agriculture Dragan Glamocic has said.
The exact information and the extent of damage to agriculture will become known in the coming days, Glamocic told the RTS on Tuesday.
