Serbian March-April inflation higher than EU inflation, lower than in some EU states

BELGRADE - Serbian y-o-y inflation in March and April was higher than EU inflation but lower than in some EU member states, according to the latest issue of the MAT economic monthly, a publication of the Belgrade Faculty of Economics and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia.

Vucevic meets with Hokanson

BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy PM and Defence Minister Milos Vucevic said at a meeting with US National Guard Bureau Chief Gen Daniel R Hokanson on Wednesday that Serbia-US bilateral relations were on an upward trajectory and that both sides had expressed intent to continue and deepen defence cooperation.

Brnabic receives farewell visit from UK ambassador

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic received a farewell visit from the UK's Ambassador to Belgrade Sian MacLeod on Monday.

Brnabic noted that her government was focusing on science, digitalisation, artificial intelligence, innovation and biotech and added that intensive works were also underway to build science and technology parks across the country.

Vucic: More than 37,000 Illegal Weapons were handed over to Authorities in Serbia

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that since May 8, more than 37,000 illegal weapons and explosive devices have been handed over to authorities. He added that he will fight for the return of the death penalty after the shootings in Belgrade and the municipality of Mladenovac, in which dozens of people were killed and injured, BGNES reported.

Bomb alerts sent to Belgrade schools were false - police

BELGRADE - The Serbian Ministry of Interior confirmed to Tanjug on Wednesday that bomb alerts emailed to 78 primary and 37 secondary schools in Belgrade this morning had been false.

Following counter-diversion checks in all of the schools, the police established that there were no bombs in the school buildings.
