Important: Sirens will be Tested Today in Several Locations in Bulgaria!

In the past 24 hours, 1,850 new carriers of the SARS-CoV-2 virus have been registered in the country, data from the single information portal show.

Yesterday, 17,987 diagnostic tests were made - 10,295 PCR and 7,692 antigen. Positive are 10% of the tests carried out.

The active cases were 52,509.

577 Confirmed COVID-19 Cases in Bulgaria, a 36-Year-Old Man Died

577 are the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bulgaria according to data from the National Operational Headquarters. Today, 12 new cases have been proved, 7 of them are in Sofia, 3 in Stara Zagora, 1 in Plovdiv and 1 in Kardzhali. The labs continue to work.

213 persons with confirmed COVID-19 are hospitalized. 21 patients are in intensive care units and clinics.

Test of the Security Sirens is Scheduled on October 1st

The Ministry of Interior notifies residents of the cities of Sofia, Burgas, Varna, Kardzhali, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Ruse, Smolyan, Vratsa and in the settlements in the 30-kilometer zone around Kozloduy NPP, Stara Zagora and Galubovo, that on Tuesday, October 1st, the alarm system will be activated by 11:00 AM. The alerts will be accompanied by voice information.

Bulgaria to Test Warning Siren Systems on October 03

The civil defense sirens of Bulgaria are to be tested in 11 Bulgarian cities on Friday.

At 13:00 local time, an alert message will sound all across the towns and cities of Burgas, Varna, Vratsa, Kardzhali, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Ruse, Smolyan, and Sofia.

Every year the test also comprises the 30-km zone around the Kozloduy Nuclear Plant.

Roads in Bulgaria's Silistra Region to be Closed to All Traffic Due to Severe Weather

Bulgarian Regional Minister Lilyana Pavlova stated that the roads in the region of Silistra will be closed to all traffic as the situation there remains most critical.
