The United States Ambassador to the EU, Gordon Sondland, who was in Bucharest on Thursday, told a press conference that the US is ready to help Romania in "any problems related to the rule of law." ""The US is very concerned about the rule of law for not just the obvious reasons that you can't have a civil society without rule of law.

5G is the fifth generation of global mobile networks, designed to operate faster and with greater reliability than its 4G predecessor. Another of the big benefits of 5G is its enhanced capacity, designed to better cope with the proliferation of smartphone and tablet devices across the globe.

The memorandum signed by the Romanian ambassador in Washington and the US ambassador in Bucharest in Washington DC on August 20 recommends a thorough evaluation of suppliers to ensure full security of the implementation of the 5G technology, according to Romania's Foreign Ministry (MAE).

Romania could exclude Chinese giant Huawei from its future 5G network, according to a joint statement by the presidents of the United States and Romania.

The document, signed by Klaus Werner Iohannis  and Donald Trump, says the two sides will seek to avoid the security risks associated with Chinese investment in building a 5G telecommunications network.

AGERPRES special correspondent to Washington DC, US, Florentina Peia reports: Romania's President Klaus Iohannis announced on Tuesday, after meeting his American counterpart Donald Trump in Washington DC, that a memorandum of understanding was signed between the national governments of the US and Romania regarding 5G technology.

Telenor Bulgaria held its second 5G trial during which three couples of amateur cooks were monitored and helped remotely by chef Andre Tokev from Burgas. The chef was mentoring the amateur-cooks over 5G  through VR glasses and a live video feed captured with a 360-degrees camera placed in the kitchen in his restaurant in Sofia where the amateur cooks prepared food.

Next week, at the Black Hat conference, security experts will present the opportunity to intercept communications on 5G networks using the so-called. "IMSI traps" or "hunters". The hacking device costs only $ 7, TechNews.bg reports.

Telemedicine has been tested in Bulgaria for about a month, writes NOVA TV.
