The industrial giant ABB opens its newest plant in Bulgaria on September 17th. The new facility is the company's second investment in Petrich and the fifth manufacturing facility in the country, Automotive Cluster Bulgaria reports.

The company's new factory is the second greenfield investment of ABB Group in Petrich area and company's fifth factory in Bulgaria.The new 7'400 square metres factory will manufacture low-voltage products for ABB and will create an additional 420 jobs when fully operational, a press release reads.

At the Posidonia 2018 shipping fair in Athens on Tuesday ABB Turbocharging Greece & Cyprus and Limassol-based Multimarine Services Ltd signed an agreement for an ABB turbocharging service point to open at the Cypriot company's floating shipyard in Limassol in September.

Bulgarian engineering company Energoremont Holding  said on Wednesday that, in a partnership with Sofia-based Balgarska Energetika and Germany's ABB Automation, it has signed a contract with local miner Mini Maritsa Iztok for the rehabilitation of three bucket chain excavators, according to See news. 

The world’s largest maker of power grids, Switzerland’s ABB Ltd., said the intensifying standoff between Greece and its debtors is hurting the European economy as companies hold back investments.

ABB Bulgaria employed 400 new people over the past year and is planning to hire additional 200 employees by the end of 2015 at its second production plant in the town of Rakovski.

This was announced by representatives of the company on Thursday at a press conference on the occasion of the first anniversary since the opening of the second factory in Rakovski.

Ekkehard Neureither is the Country Manager of the automation and power technologies giant ABB for Bulgaria.

He is also the Local Division Manager for Low Voltage Products in Bulgaria, Romania, and Moldova.
