Hot balloon tourism on track to break record this year: Minister

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu has stated that 2024 could set a new all-time record in hot air balloon tourism, surpassing the 2022 figure of an impressive 750,000 people who took hot air balloon rides.

In January-September, 32,445 took to the sky with 700,000 domestic and foreign balloon passengers, according to the minister.

Trabzon Airport unveils new international arrivals terminal

Trabzon Airport has celebrated the opening of its new international arrivals terminal and CIP (commercially important person) building with a ceremony.

The event on Aug. 27 was attended by Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu and Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.

Four transport ministers to meet in Istanbul for Iraq's road project

Türkiye unblocks Instagram after nine days

Türkiye began unblocking Instagram Saturday evening after depriving access to millions of users for nine days.

"Following our negotiations with representatives of Instagram, we will unblock access starting from 9:30 p.m. (18:30 GMT) after they agreed to respond to our demands," transport and infrastructure minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said on X.

Türkiye’s 1st indigenous communications satellite set for launch

Türkiye's first indigenous communications satellite Turksat 6A will be launched into orbit on Monday at 5.00 p.m. EDT from SpaceX's Kennedy facility in Florida, according to Turkish transport and infrastructure minister.

Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, in a statement on Monday, said the launch will mark Türkiye as one of the 11 countries capable of producing satellites through their own means.
