The strong friendship between Greece and the United Arab Emirates was stressed during a visit to the emirate by Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias on Wednesday and Thursday.

Defense Minister Nikos Dendias will pay a two-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday and Thursday.

Dendias will meet with the UAE's Minister of State for Defense Affairs Mohammed Ahmed Al Bawardi.

Greece's strategic relationship with the United Arab Emirates was the main subject of a meeting between Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan during a visit by the latter to Athens on Monday.

Prime Minister Mitsotakis is scheduled to have a series of meetings Monday.

At 11.30 a.m., he will hold a working meeting with the executive committee of the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) at Athens International Airport.

At 1.30 p.m., Mitsotakis will receive UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Maximos Mansion.

Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias is set to meet with his counterpart from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on Monday, during the latter's visit to Greece. 

ABU DHABI - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias on Wednesday held a telephone conversation with his UAE counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

In a tweet, Dendias said the two focused on bilateral issues and developments in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The two countries earlier this year conducted joint military exercises.

Since the beginning of 2020, the pace of normalization between Israel and Arab countries has accelerated considerably on the political, military, economic, and even sports fronts.

Tel Aviv has been keen to publicly announce secret relations with Arab countries in a bid to break with political tradition.
