COVID-19 patients in Turkey to be treated free of charge

All COVID-19 citizens will be treated free of charge regardless of whether they have social security, according to a decision published in the Official Gazette.

With the decision, there will be no fees for personal protective equipment, tests used in the detection of the disease, kits, equipment and medicines.

One new Covid-19 death, 99 in total

One more person died in the past 24 hours from Covid-19 in Greece, with the total number of fatalities standing at 99.

Sotiris Tsiodras, the Health Ministry's spokesman and infectious disease expert, said in his daily press briefing that 31 new cases were recorded in the country putting the new sum at 2,145, of which 56 pct are men.

Parliament opens debate on new social security bill

Greek lawmakers started debating on Tuesday evening a social security bill, which Labor Minister Yiannis Vroutsis describing it as a "watershed" law that will affect current and future generations. 

Earlier, the minister tabled an accompanying actuarial report which he said "proves the [draft] law's viability until 2070."

A European money laundering watchdog has cautioned that a secretive investment-for-passports program run by Cyprus was vulnerable to money laundering and fraught with risk.

Life Expectancy in Bulgaria - The Lowest in the EU

The average life expectancy in Bulgaria remains the lowest among EU countries, according to a new annual report from the European Commission on Community Health which was presented today.

The average life expectancy in Bulgaria has increased from 72 years in 2000 to 75 in 2017, but it is still the lowest in the European Union.

The Life Expectancy in Bulgaria Increased by 5 Years since 1997

In 1960 the average life expectancy in Bulgaria was just over 69.2 years. This was followed by a 26-year-long slow improvement period registered in surveys. In 1986, the country's average life expectancy reached the age of 71.7 years, BNR reported.   This is the longest average life expectancy ever recorded before 1989.
