Court voids IOR Park land retrocession act

The Bucharest Court of Appeal has admitted the nullity of the retrocession of 12 hectares of the Bucharest Sector 3 IOR Park, Sector mayor Robert Negoita said on Friday in a press briefing delivered right near the respective plot. Adriean Videanu released; Alina Bica, Dorin and Alin Cocos still in custody

The High Court of Cassation and Justice has decided to release from custody the ex-Minister of Economy Adriean Videanu, currently under investigation by the National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA), in a file in which the ex-Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) Alina Bica also has a major role.

Blaga: Videanu resigned from PNL Bucharest Chairman office

National Liberal Party (PNL) Co-Chairman Vasile Blaga on Saturday said that Adriean Videanu resigned from the chairman office of the Liberals' organisation in Bucharest, as his party membership was also suspended, after he was placed under preventive arrest.

Bica, Videanu, Alin and Dorin Cocos, under preventive arrest for 30 days

Former Directorate for the Investigation of Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) Director Alina Bica, former Economy Minister Adriean Videanu, businessman Dorin Cocos and his son, Alin Cocos, as well as Ionut Mihailescu, former adviser to Alina Bica, were placed under preventive arrest for 30 days, as decided by the High Court of Cassation and Justice (ICCJ).

Romanian Anti-Graft Squad Detain Ex-Minister

Romanian anti-corruption prosecutors detained former Economy Minister Adriean Videanu on Thursday for 24 hours on charges of abuse of authority.

Anti-graft prosecutors seized Videanu's shares, together with other belongings, in October 2013, when starting to investigate him for conspiracy and undermining the economy.
