Traveling archbishop picked up on Icarians' longevity 400 years ago

A healthy diet with lots of seasonal fruit and vegetables and no processed food, often vigorous daily exercise, a clean natural environment and a different outlook on life, where one is happy with little - these are among the reasons often cited for the longevity of the inhabitants of the island of Icaria, who are among the longest-living people in the world.

Blaze threatens homes on Rhodes

More than 20 firefighters, assisted by an unspecified number of volunteers, were on Friday trying to keep a fire that broke out on Monte Smith hill, just 3 kilometers from the town of Rhodes, from reaching homes.

The blaze reportedly caused a power outage in the capital of the Dodecanese island.

It was not known what caused the fire.

Tourism-related real estate dominant on European map

Greece is the dominant European market for investors looking for high returns in tourism-related luxury property, new market data have highlighted.

Nine of Europe's 10 leading investment locations, in terms of high rates of return on upscale holiday homes, are Greek destinations, according to an annual report by international property consultants Algean Property.

World famous DJ Steve Aoki was invited to Mykonos at Cavo Paradiso and offered the fans an unforgettable set from the decks. Music was not the only thing the 40-year-old Californian music producer offered the frenzied crowd, as at one point he started throwing cakes at them. Mykonos Live TV was among the sweet mayhem.
