It has been reported that major progress has been made in the first phase of the Ephesus Ancient Canal Project that will bring the ancient city in the western province of İzmir's Selçuk district together with the sea again after 2,500 years.

Over 440 migrants caught in İzmir in one week
The gendarmerie units in the western province of İzmir have caught 446 irregular migrants between Aug. 15 and 24, İhlas News Agency has reported.
"Some three suspects involved in human smuggling have also been detained," the agency said.

Military expo opened to commemorate Great Offensive
Within the scope of the 100th anniversary of the Great Offensive, Turkish armed forces have opened an exhibition in the Aegean province of Afyonkarahisar.
"We are proud to host such an event," said Kübra Güran Yiğitbaşı, the governor of Afyonkarahisar.
The governor made a call to all the citizens to visit the most comprehensive military expo.

Resort town Bodrum eyes 1 mln foreign visitors this year
Some 1 million foreign tourists are expected to visit the popular resort town of Bodrum in the western province of Muğla, according to Ömer Faruk Dengiz, the head of the local hoteliers' association (BODER).
Since the start of the year, 500,000 foreign holidaymakers have arrived in the town by plane, and this figure will further rise to 800,000 by the end of 2022, Dengiz said.

Women’s touch on Sardis ancient city
