The Taliban have taken away security from former Afghan President Hamid Karzai and former Prime Minister Abdullah Abdullah, who is officially the head of the High Council for National Reconciliation (HCNR).

Taliban co-founder Baradar in Kabul for talks to set up government

Taliban co-founder Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar arrived in Kabul on Aug. 21 for talks on establishing a new "inclusive" government in Afghanistan, a senior official said.

Other senior Taliban leaders seen in the capital in recent days include Khalil Haqqani - one of America's most wanted terrorists with a $5 million bounty on his head.

According to the report, he arrived late last night in the second largest city in that country, Kandahar.
The city was the spiritual center of the Taliban and the capital during their first rule from 1996 to 2001.
Baradar returned to Afghanistan from Qatar, where he led negotiations with the United States for months, and then peace talks on Afghanistan.

Turkish Airlines cancels Afghanistan flights after Taliban takeover

Turkey's national flag carrier Turkish Airlines on Aug. 16 canceled all scheduled flights to Afghanistan, following the Taliban's capture of the capital Kabul.

A special Turkish Airlines flight sent to bring back Turkish nationals from Afghanistan is expected to arrive at the Istanbul Airport at 2:20 p.m. (1120GMT) with 324 passengers.
