Turkey's leading defense systems producer ASELSAN has marked an increase of 273 percent in its net profit in 2016 when compared with 2015.
277 judges, prosecutors dismissed over Gülen links
Turkey's highest judicial regulatory body dismissed 227 judges and prosecutors on Feb. 20 over their alleged links to U.S.-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen, who is accused of masterminding the July 15, 2016 coup attempt that left 248 killed and nearly 2,200 wounded, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

"If you are going to be hanged, be hanged with an English rope," is a famous Turkish saying. Anything that has the act of hanging cannot really imply something positive, but this saying has a positive connotation in reference to the British.
By contrast, you can also very often hear many Turks utter the expression "Don't descend the well with an English rope."
Turkey's external assets up in December
Turkey's foreign assets rose 2.1 percent year-on-year in December to reach $214.8 billion, the Turkish Central Bank said on Feb. 20.
At the same time, overseas liabilities fell by 3 percent to $570.8 billion, the bank added, putting Turkey's December Net International Investment Position (NIIP) at -$356.1 billion, a 5.8 percent improvement compared to the same period last year.

According to a multi-nation Gallup poll published, Greece and three other NATO member-states would prefer Russia fighting on their side! By far the largest number of countries polled by WIN/Gallup International chose the U.S.
Turkey's dance
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit to Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Qatar could be seen as a return to the bad old Sunni alliance against Iran in the region. For the time being, it is not clear if the move is part of a Turkish governmental attempt to influence the new U.S. administration, or a response to U.S. President Donald Trump's new Mideast policy.
