Bulgarian PM Calls on World Leaders to Solve Refugee Crisis
Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov called on world leaders to sit together and come up with a solution to the refugee crisis.
Borisov insisted that urgent measures should be taken to address the source of the refugee wave, namely the destabilised states in Africa and the Arab world.
According to him, this was not in the capacity of Bulgaria to deal with.

UNHCR: Help for Serbia reached EUR 1 million
The help the UN refugee agency collects for the Serbian Government in light of a surge of refugees arriving in the country reached EUR 1 million on Friday.
This was announced by UNHCR, according to Tanjug.

Central Athens' Victoria Sq. again turned into irregular migrants' camp
Central Athens’ Victoria Square was again turned into a makeshift migrants’ camp overnight on Thursday, as dozens of third country nationals, including women and children, filled the open site. Most of the people described themselves as Syrian refugees, although there were several groups of young Afghan, Iraqi and even Pakistani men.
EU Stumps up Aid for Refugees in Balkans
Ahead of the Western Balkans Summit in Vienna, the European Commission on Wednesday said it was releasing an additional 1.5 million euro in humanitarian funding to assist refugees and migrants in Serbia and Macedonia.

UNICEF Sets up Support Area for Migrant Children in Macedonia
The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) said on Tuesday it has established a child-friendly space with a mobile team near the Macedonian town of Geveglija to provide support to migrant women and children transiting the country.
UNHCR in Serbia: There's no migrant crisis
It is hard to predict how the situation with migrants will develop in the Balkans and Serbia, says head of the UNHCR office in Serbia Hans Friedrich Schodder.
However he noted that the issue of an increasing number of refugees arriving in Serbia from the Middle East should not be qualified as a crisis, but that a crisis should be prevented.

The United States expects to accept between 5,000 and 8,000 Syrian refugees in 2016, officials said Aug. 24.

Migrants Resume Passage Through Macedonia
Macedonia on Sunday assisted thousands of migrants to resume their journeys through the country and into Serbia after the authorities tried to seal their southern border last Thursday and declared a crisis situation, which resulted in chaotic scenes and clashes with police.
