The Serbian Defence Ministry on Monday said that President Nikolic had decided that the Serbian Army will take part in the Victory Day Parade in Red Square in Moscow on May 9, marking the 70th anniversary of the capitulation of Nazi Germany in 1945.

President to attend Victory Day parade in Moscow

MOSCOW -- Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic will attend the Victory Day parade in Moscow this spring, the Serbian ambassador to the Russian Federation has confirmed.

Russia will on May 9 mark the 70th anniversary of victory over fascism - marking the day in 1945 when Germany capitulated in the Second World War.

“We can’t keep doing the same thing for five decades and expect a different result. It’s time for a new approach. We will end an outdated approach that failed to advance our interests and instead begin to normalize relations between our countries.”

PANCEVO - The Armed Force of the Russian Federation will donate 10 military parachutes to the Special Brigade of the Serbian Armed Forces.

The protocol on donation was signed in Pancevo on Wednesday by Special Brigade Chief of Staff Miroljub Cubic and Russian Defense Attaché Valery Volkov.

BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic will attend the central commemorative ceremony to mark the Remembrance day of the beginning of World War I at the Western Front in Liege on Monday, August 4.

Nikolic will attend the ceremony at the invitation by Belgian King Phillipe.

Russia displayed its full military might during the annual Victory Day parade at the Red Square in Moscow.

The country marked the 69th anniversary of the defeat over Nazi Germany in WW II.
