American College of Greece offers Business English seminars
The American College of Greece at Aghia Paraskevi in Athens is offering its 10-week seminar on Business English again this year.
Classes take place every Tuesday from February 12 to April 16, at 6-8.30 p.m.
Cold snap brings snow and trouble
The Church of Aghia Paraskevi in Ano Hora, near Nafpaktos, western Greece, was shrouded in snow Tuesday as wintry weather set in in many parts of the country. Snowfall was also reported in north, northwest and central Greece, while the weather system also brought gale-force winds in the Aegean and the Ionian.

Man gunned down in north Athens suburb in suspected turf war
A man was gunned down in the northern Athens suburb of Aghia Paraskevi on Monday night in what authorities believe may be part of a turf war between rival criminal gangs.
The unnamed man, whose age has been put at around 40 or 50 years old, was found shot outside the Aghia Paraskevi cemetery, in a car that was registered under a woman's name.
Wildfire put out in Kassandra forest
A wildfire in a pine forest near the Aghia Paraskevi area on the Kassandra leg of northern Greece's Halkidiki peninsula was brought under control on Saturday, the fire service said.
The fire led to the deployment of 40 firemen, two water-dropping aircraft and 10 fire engines, authorities said.

Mosquito control measures to be carried out in northern Attica
Authorities have announced the next areas for mosquito spraying in the wider Athens area.
Spraying will be conducted from August 13-20 in 12 municipalities in northern Attica: Halandri, Aghia Paraskevi, Holargos/Papagou, Nea Ionia, Pendeli, Maroussi, Vrilissia, Kifissia, Pefki/Lykovrissi, Psychico/Filothei, Iraklio and Metamorphosi.
Plan to activate electronic barriers on metro gathering pace
Transport authorities are moving forward with long-delayed activation of electronic barriers which started operating at Syntagma metro station in central Athens on Sunday with several more stations on the metro network to follow suit by March 15.
Barriers for disabled commuters will remain open until March 15.
Athens retirement home shut down for 'hellish' conditions
A private retirement home in Aghia Paraskevi, northern Athens, was shut down and sealed on Monday after Attica regional authorities, the Health Ministry and healthcare groups won a legal battle against the facility over the "hellish" conditions its 14 residents were kept in.

Gang member targeting Athens pensioners arrested
A member of a gang that allegedly conned pensioners in Athens and then stole money from them was arrested on Wednesday. The 32-year-old man and two accomplices allegedly approached pensioners in the street and pretended to be accountants, insurance agents, tax inspectors or friends of their relatives.
