Man arrested for 44 supermarket robberies
A 33-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday in the southern Athens suburb of Aghios Dimitrios in connection with 44 supermarket robberies across Attica.
The suspect, a Ukrainian national, committed the robberies over a period of five months. He was remanded in custody on Wednesday after appearing before a prosecutor.

Woman, toddler die in Easter Sunday blaze
A 37-year-old woman and her four-year-old son were killed in a fire that broke out in their home in the Athens suburb of Aghios Dimitrios on Easter Sunday.
Firefighters rushed to the scene after reports of thick smoke billowing from the building. Firemen recovered the woman and boy from the house and ambulance transferred them to the hospital but they were declared dead on arrival.

Video of Greek gunboat escorting Turkish patrol boat (video)
‘Protothema.gr’ has released the video of the engagement between the Greek gunboat ‘Akteoros’ and a Turkish patrol boat in the Aegean Sea. Earlier on Good Friday, a Turkish patrol boat threatened to arrest the crew of Greek fishing boat ‘Agios Dimitrios’ claiming it was in Turkish waters.
