Suspected arsonist remanded in custody
A foreign national who was detained for the forest fire on Mount Ymittos, near Athens, has been returned to jail after his testimony.
The man was arrested on Saturday by the Fire Service's criminal unit on suspicion of arson near the Monastery of Agios Georgios Koutalas and led before a prosecutor.
His nationality was not disclosed.

Woman found dead amid severe rainstorm in Pelion
A woman was found dead near Paltsi, on the southeastern coast of Pelion in Magnisia, which was severely affected by the storm Daniel.
The 87-year-old woman had been reported missing for several hours.
She was discovered amidst a stack of wood. Eight firefighters were engaged in the operation to recover her body.

Two arrested for suspected arson near Avlonas
Police has arrested two people in connection with the wildfires that started near the town of Avlonas, north of Attica, on Thursday.
Three fires broke out within three hours in the area. Two of them were extinguished while the third in the Agios Georgios area is ongoing.

Sunbeds return on Naxos as soon as inspectors leave

The four passengers on a sailboat that was floating adrift in the Saronic Gulf without engines or sails have been successfully rescued and are in good health, Greek authorities said on Monday.
Tanker runs aground off Andros; no reports of injuries, spillages
A tanker carrying nearly 1,000 cubic meters of fuel ran aground off the island of Andros on Saturday, after hitting rocks that tore a small hole into the left side of its hull.
The Greek-flagged Agios Georgios had just set sail from Andros and had been headed to nearby Skyros when the incident occurred. None of its eight crew and two passengers were injured.
Body discovered in sea near Sounio
The body of a man was discovered in the sea, near the islet of Agios Georgios, located south of Sounio, on Monday morning.
The unidentified body will be transferred by a coast guard vessel to the port of Lavrio for the forensic examination.
