Oros: Cereal production surpasses 15 million tons, with no merit from Ministry, minister
The cereal production has surpassed, until now, 15 million tons, wheat and barley registering record-numbers this year, of 11.4 million tons, 1.9 million tons, respectively, the Minister of Agriculture, Adrian Oros, declared for AGERPRES, adding that "the Ministry and minister have no merit for these large productions".
Romania's record high sunflower crop to be exported unprocessed due to lack of oil plants
Romania registers this year the highest sunflower output since it joined the EU, by approximately 1.22 million tons higher compared to 2020, but due to the lack of processing units it has to sell the unprocessed crop to EU countries and not only, say the representatives of the Romanian Farmers Club.
PM Dancila: 288.02 million euros have entered Romania's coffers as reimbursements of EAFRD payments
Prime Minister Viorica Dancila said on Thursday that 288.02 million euros have entered Romania's coffers as reimbursements of payments related to the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
She added that Romania reached 17pct in the absorption of European funds, approaching the European average of 18pct.
EU Stumps up Cash For Romanian Countryside
The European Commission on Tuesday approved a Rural Development Programme for Romania, RDP, aimed at improving the competitiveness of the EU farming sector, caring for the countryside and climate, and strengthening the economic and social fabric of rural communities by 2020.
