More than 3,000 farmers to receive compensation for crop damage
The Greek Agricultural Insurance Organization (ELGA) is expected to disburse the sum of 3 million euros in compensation to 3,283 agricultural producers on Friday.
The funds are being distributed for damage incurred in 2013 and 2014.

Heavy Rains Ruined 25% of Bulgaria’s Wheat Harvest - Minister
The heavy rain has ruined around 250 000 decares of wheat area, according to Bulgarian Agriculture Minister Dimitar Grekov.
In a Sunday interview for the Bulgarian National Radio, Grekov announced that Bulgaria had anticipated a harvest of 5 million tons of bread wheat, the best yield in 8-9 years, prior to the floods.
Bulgaria's Exports of Cereals Top 7 M Tonnes
Bulgaria's Agriculture Ministry has updated the data about the production of basic cereals in 2013.
After the update, an increase in stocks by 857 000 tonnes was registered, mainly due to maize and sunflower, according to data of Bulgaria's National Grain and Feed Service, as cited by farmer.bg.

Livestock Breeders Call National Protest June 16
The Union of Cattle Breeders called Friday a national protest on June 16 to express disgruntlement with institutional indifference to problems in the sector.

BELGRADE -- Between 3 and 4 percent of arable land in Serbia was covered in water in the recent floods, but there will be enough food for the country's needs.
The wheat harvest will even yield enough for export, head of the association of grain farmers and exporters Žita Srbije Vukosav Saković told Tanjug on Friday.
