Bulgarian Atanas Skatov Successfully Climbed his 10th Eight-Thousander

On October 3, Bulgarian climber Atanas Skatov summited Dhaulagiri (8,176 m), which the 7th highest mountain in the world, BNT reported.

This is the tenth eighth-thousander the 41-year-old Bulgarian climbed after his ascent of Kanchengjong (8,586 m) on May 15, Gasherbrum I (8080 M0 on July 12 and Gasherbrum II (8035 m) on July 18th.

Silver Falcon Award for Atanas Skatov Who Climbed 3 Eight-Thousanders in just Two Months

Today, pressclub "Bulgaria" will award one of its few Silver Falcon awards to Bulgarian climber Atanas Skatov.

The mountaineer, who is a vegan, will be awarded for his strong character and bravery this year as he climbed three eight-thousanders: Kanchenjunga, Gasherbrum 1 and Gasherbrum 2, and is now to set off for Dhaulagiri, which will be his fourth for this year, BNT reported.

NSI: Potatoes' Price Went up by Nearly 50% for a Year

The agricultural producer price index increased by 5.3%  for the second quarter of 2019 compared to the same quarter of 2018, the NSI reported. The price index of crop production increased by 5.8% and of livestock production - by 4.6%. Compared to the previous year, prices of agricultural products increased by 4.1%, in crop production by 4.9% and in animal husbandry - by 3.0%.

Bulgarian Parliament's New Website will Cost BGN 25 000

The National Assembly will have a new and more modern website. The public contract for its construction has already been announced. Parliament has budgeted over BGN 100,000 in the summer months, bTV reported.

During a scandal involving leaked personal data from the NRA, prosecutors announced that parliament was also targeted by hackers. Or rather, its sprinklers.

Prices of Agricultural Land in Bulgaria Rose with 12% in 2018

The average price of the fields increased by 12.6 per cent in 2018 compared to the previous year, while a decare of agricultural land reached 941 levs before 2018, a growth of 7.9 per cent. The rental income has increased by 4.3 percent to 48 leva per hectare, according to data from the National Statistics Institute announced on Wednesday. Permanent grassland, however, declined by 16.8%.
