Canadian Paratrooper Dies During Military Exercises in Bulgaria

The accident in which a Canadian paratrooper died happened during a parachute jump on Monday evening near the village of Cheshnigirovo, close to Plovdiv in central Bulgaria, the Ministry of Defence said on Tuesday.

The three survivors have been hospitalised at the Sveti Georgi University Hospital in Plovdiv and have no life-threatening injuries, the ministry added.

Russian soldiers headed for Serbia for "Slavic Brotherhood"

More than 150 members of the Ivanovski Battalion of Russia's Airborne Troops (VDV) are due to arrive in Serbia for a joint military exercise.

The Russians will participate in the exercise, dubbed "Slavic Brotherhood 2016," together with Serbian soldiers. They will also be joined by members of the Belarus military.

NATO's Swift Response Training to Feature Night Airborne Landings in Bulgaria

The largest military training of NATO in Europe since the end of the Cold War - Swift Response 2015 will feature night airborne landings in Bulgaria.

An airborne landing with parachute drops and descent of equipment will take place after 21 o'clock on Monday in the areas around the airports of Tenevo and Balchik and Novo Selo Training Area.
