Air China is significantly reducing its seat availability for its scheduled service between Beijing and Athens next year, with fewer flights per week in April-June and a smaller type of aircraft, according to a recent announcement by China's flag carrier.

BELGRADE - On Friday, Air Serbia carried its four millionth passenger since the beginning of 2024, the national airline said in a statement.

"This achievement was reached almost a month earlier than the previous record in 2023, when the four millionth passenger was recorded on December 13," it said.

A Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Dubai has been diverted to Rhodes where it landed just before 6 p.m. Monday.

Air China and Athens International Airport celebrated on Tuesday the expansion of the Chinese flagcarrier's scheduled service between Athens and Beijing as of next month, with an extra two flights per week and the use of even greater aircraft on the route.

The second plane to China departed this morning at 6.15 am.

An Airbus A330 will be sunk in the Saros Bay (or Gulf of Saros) in the northern Aegean Sea on June 14 to serve as a reef and attract diving tourists.

The first direct Air China flight between Athens and Beijing landed at Athens International Airport on Saturday morning. The Air China Airbus A330-200 had more than 200 passengers on board, including the Greek premier's wife.
