One Germanwings Pilot 'Left Cockpit' before French Alps Crash

One of the pilots got out of the cockpit of the Germanwings Airbus A320 and could not get back in, the New York Times quotes a "senior military official" as saying.

The plane with 150 people on board was flying from Barcelona in Spain to Düsseldorf in Germany when it went down and plowed into the mountains near the French town of Barcelonette, 100 km north of Nice.

The Airbus A320 was carrying 142 passengers and 6 crew, according to France 24. Neither Germanwings nor French aviation safety authorities have so far given any account on what led to the incident.

It was flying from Barcelona, southeast Spain, en route to Düsseldorf in Northern Germany.

Turkey expects new delays in Airbus A400M delivery

Turkey is preparing for further delays in the delivery of two A400M military transport aircraft it ordered from Airbus Group, according to defense officials in Ankara.

It signed a deal for 10 of the heavy cargo and troop carriers in 2003 as part of a group of seven European NATO nations, expecting its part of the order to be fulfilled by 2018.
