Turkish F-16 jets violate Greek airspace again

Turkish provocations against Greece in the Aegean Sea continued unabated, as a series of violations of Greek airspace took place on Wednesday. Two F-16 fighter jets infringed the FIR of Athens at approximately 15.14pm, and then proceeded to violate Greek airspace by flying over the isle of Mavra, located west of the island of Levitha.

Turkish planes violate Greek airspace 37 times!

Three Turkish CN-235 reconnaissance planes violated Greek airspace a total of
36 times, while 4 F-16 fighter jets infringed on Greek airspace over central, north and southeastern Aegean. Two of the fighter jets, which flew in in twin battle formation were armed. Greek scrambled and intercepted the incoming planes in accordance to international aviation rules of engagement.

Turkish jets conduct 24 Aegean incursions

12 Turkish jets violated Greek national air space 24 times Thursday in the northeastern Aegean, authorities said.

There was also one mock dog fight between Greek and Turkish aircraft.

The Turkish jets - consisting of 10 armed F-16s flying in four formations, one CN-235 plane and a helicopter - also entered the Athens Flight Information Region (FIR) nine times.

Turkish jets enter Greek air space, fly over Kalogiri islets

Four Turkish fighter jets Wednesday violated Greek air space in the eastern and northern Aegean, the latest in a string of transgressions in the region.

Four Turkish F-16s entered the Athens Flight Information Region at 11.40 a.m. in the air space between Lemnos and Lesvos before flying over the Kalogiri islets at an altitude of 29,000 feet.

Breaking: 4 Turkish F-16 jets fly over Greek islands

Four Turkish F-16 fighter jets entered into Greek airspace between the islands of Lesvos and Limnos at midday, Wednesday. The jets flew over the islands of Kalogirous at an altitude of 29,000 feet at 11.56am after violating the Athens FIR at 11.40am. Two of the jest left the Athens FIR at 12.13pm while the other two departed from the islands area between Lesvos and Limnos at 12.l16pm.

Video: Greek SAR helicopter rescuing the Mirage-2000 pilot

The video showing the rescue of the 28-year-old Mirage 2000 pilot from the sea has been released by the Hellenic Air Force General Staff.

Just a few minutes after ejecting from the jet fighter, the 28-year-old pilot was found in the open sea of the Sporades where he was rescued by the Super Puma less than an hour later.
