Mirage jet crash revives fleet fears
A 28-year-old Hellenic Air Force pilot sustained minor injuries Monday after ejecting from a Mirage 2000 fighter jet south of the Sporades islands group, but the incident brought to the fore the issue of old and malfunctioning aircraft currently in use.

Pilot safe after Mirage 2000 crashes into sea
The Hellenic Air Force says a pilot is safe after a Mirage 2000 fighter jet crashed in the Sporades island group at 12.18 p.m. on Monday.
Hellenic Air Force officials said the aircraft had been taking part in a military drill. The pilot ejected and is safe.
Officials said the pilot likely encountered mechanical problems while conducting the routine training exercise.

Mirage-2000 jet goes down near Skopelos
A Mirage-2000 fighter jet of the Hellenic Air-force went down during an exercise on Skopelos island. According to reports, the pilot ejected to safety. The accident took place as the plane was engaged in a military exercise with two other fighter jets of the 332 squadron at approximately 12.18am on Monday. The reasons for the accident are being attributed to mechanical failure.

Three new Turkish violations of Greek air space
A pair of Turkish F-16 fighter jets violated Greek national air space three times in the northeastern and central Aegean Friday, Greek defense officials said.
The Turkish jets, which were armed, also violated the Athens Flight Information Region once, the same officials said, adding that there was one mock dogfight.

Turkey's TAI says signs $292 million deal with Spirit Aero
The Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) has announced the signing of a $292 million production deal with aircraft parts maker Spirit AeroSystems Holdings Inc.
TAI said in the May 26 statement that the deal was an extension until 2023 of its existing agreement to produce Boeing 737 MAX and LTA parts for Spirit Aero.
Greek defense minister slams Turkey over air space violations
Defense Minister Panos Kammenos lashed out against Ankara on Tuesday over two air space violations by Turkish jets that occurred during a memorial service for a Greek airman who was killed 11 years ago when his F-16 jet collided with a Turkish Phantom.
The violations were carried out by two Turkish F-16s over the central Aegean.
Turkish aircraft violate Greek air space, again
Six Turkish aircraft violated Greek national air space in the northeastern, central and southeastern Aegean six times Monday, according to Greek defense officials. The two Turkish jets - F-16s, both of which were armed - and four helicopters carried out six violations of the Athens Flight Information Region.

Court sentences alleged killer of Russian jet pilot to five years in jail in Turkey's west
A court in the western province of İzmir has sentenced the alleged killer of a Russian jet pilot to five years in jail over "violating the law on firearms" and "keeping a warfare weapon" in a separate case into him.
