The activity of the Otopeni Airport and of air traffic controllers is not affected, in the context in which a TAROM pilot was confirmed to have coronavirus, informs the Strategic Communication Group (GCS).

Wizz Air announced today that, as a result of the national travel restrictions imposed, from 18 March 2020, the airline will suspend all its flights from Bulgaria to Spain by 3 April 2020.

Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, announced today that, as a result of the travel restrictions imposed on all foreign flights announced by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki  effective as of 00:00 HRS March 15, 2020, the airline has suspended all its flights to and from Poland until further notice. 

German flag carrier Lufthansa is planning to request state aid. This comes as the airline's CEO Carsten Spohr warned that 2/3rds of the airline Group's 800 odd aircraft will be grounded.

Wizz Air announced today that it is immediately stopping its flights to Milan, Treviso and Bergamo due to the blockage of the northern Italian region in an attempt to control the coronavirus outbreak. This was reported by the carrier's press center.

Flights from Sofia and Varna to Milan Bergamo will be completely stopped by April 3.

Bulgaria's government has selected Hungarian airline Wizz Air Hungary Ltd. As an air carrier for the international Sofia-Yerevan-Sofia route, said the government press office.
The selection of Wizz Air Hungary Ltd. has been made in accordance with the bilateral international agreement, the law of the European Union and Bulgaria's national legal norms.
