Emirates to hold Open Day in Athens

Dubai-based airline Emirates is holding an Open Day in Athens on Thursday to cover vacancies in its cabin crews.
The event, which starts at 9 a.m., will take place at the Athenaeum InterContinental hotel.
Potential applicants must be at least 21 years old and are invited to register on the Emirates website.

Greek airline Sky Express partners with Qatar Airways

Greek airline Sky Express said on Thursday it had signed an agreement with Qatar Airways to cooperate on flights connecting Doha with the Greek islands, in a boost to the country's key tourism industry.

Tourism accounts for about a quarter of economic output in Greece, which saw a record number of about 33 million visitors last year.

Two dead as training aircraft crashes in occupied north of Cyprus

Turkish Cypriot police say two 46-year-old men have been killed after their small, fixed-wing training aircraft crashed at an airport in the Turkish-occupied north of Cyprus.

Police said the aircraft crashed shortly after noon Tuesday near the terminal at Gecitkale airport, also known in Greek as Lefkoniko, while on a training flight.

Turkey expresses displeasure at military exercise with barrage of violations

Turkish fighter jets on Wednesday conducted a total of 70 airspace violations, which led to six overflights and five mock dogfights with Greek fighter jets.

The recent flare-up in tension over the Aegean is seen in Athens as a reaction to Greece's joint military exercise with Cyprus,  dubbed Steel Arrow, perceived by Ankara as a challenge in the Eastern Mediterranean.
