Passengers from Lebanon have entered the EU without an inspection at Sofia Airport. Aboard the plane there were 40 people who continued their journey to other European destinations. The mistake was of the Security Department at the airport. This mistake was established just after passengers arrived at the Terminal.

US requires enhanced screening of cargo from Turkey

The U.S. Transportation Security Administration said on Sept. 7 that it is issuing a new security directive requiring enhanced screening of cargo from Turkey.

The change was "to adequately address emerging threats to cargo and raise the baseline for global aviation security," TSA spokesman Michael England said. 

Turkish police say working with Australia on foiled Etihad bomb plan

Turkish police have said they were working with Australian authorities to investigate a foiled plot to bomb an Etihad Airways flight using explosives which Canberra said were flown in from Turkey.

In a statement issued late on Aug. 5, police said they had contacted Australian authorities as soon as they received news of the foiled plot.

Australia Charges Two Men in Sydney Over Plot to Blow up Plane

Two men have been charged with terrorism offences in Sydney for their alleged plot to blow up a passenger plane, according to the Independent.

A 49-year-old man and a 32-year-old man have been charged with two counts of acts in preparation for, or planning, a terrorist act, the Australian Federal Police said.

European holidaymakers jetting off to popular summer destinations are experiencing long queues at airports after the introduction of tighter security checks, Financial Times reports.

Airline passengers have faced queues of up to four hours at European airports, including Palma de Mallorca, Madrid, Lisbon, Milan and Paris-Orly.
