According to RT, Al-Nusra terrorists fired 17 missiles on the Russian base, but the missiles were intercepted and the attack was repelled.

DAMASCUS - At least 39 people, including 21 children and women, were killed on Sunday when an explosion rocked the rebel-held town of Sarmada in northern Syria near the Turkish border, a monitor reported.

Al-Qaeda fighters and allied jihadists clashed with a rebel faction overnight in northwestern Syria after storming its weapons depot, the group and a monitor said on March 13.

In tweets posted in the morning on March 13, Division 13 said it had failed to push back an attack by al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, al-Nusra Front, and allied faction Jund al-Aqsa.

An intense wave of Russian air strikes hit the Syrian province of Hama and nearby areas in the neighbouring province of Idlib on Oct. 7, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group said.

Al-Qaida's affiliate in Syria has released seven members of a U.S.-backed rebel faction that it abducted late last month, the rebel group said in a statement.

Al-Qaeda's Syria affiliate captured at least five more US-trained rebel fighters in overnight raids on a village in northwestern Syria, a monitoring group said on August 4. 

Warplanes believed to be part of a U.S.-led alliance struck Nusra Front positions in northern Syria on July 31 following an attack by the al Qaeda-linked group on Western-backed rebels in the area, a group tracking the war said. 

Turkish officials have expressed their satisfaction at the seizure of the northern Syrian city of Idlib by opposition forces, stressing that the Ankara-supported Free Syrian Army (FSA) was part of the winning side.

The coalition that seized Idlib city on March 28 was composed of the al-Nusra Front, the official Syrian affiliate of al-Qaeda, as well as several Islamist factions. 

Islamist rebels in Syria captured four crew members March 22 when a regime helicopter crashed in the northwest province of Idlib, a monitor said, while a fifth serviceman was killed.
      

Air strikes by a U.S.-led coalition set up to fight the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) targeted the al-Qaeda-linked Nusra Front in northwest Syria overnight, an organisation that tracks violence in the Syrian civil war reported on Nov. 5.
