Summer house rents soaring ahead of holiday season
Holidaymakers are already searching for summer houses to spend their vacation in Turkey's coastal towns but only to find that rent prices have skyrocketed.
On average, the rent of an apartment in the tourist hotspot Bodrum, on the Aegean coast, is now around 30,000 Turkish Liras ($2,000), while prices for luxury units can go up to between 100,000 and 250,000 euros.

Nightclub bodyguards kill 33-year-old man in Alaçatı
Alaçatı, a tourism hotspot in the Aegean province of İzmir, has once again come to the country's agenda, but this time not for its magnificent beaches to promote tourism but for a series of events publicly called "bodyguard terror" that has shadowed the neighborhood for almost a year now.
In the recent chain of events, two bodyguards of a nightclub killed a 33-year-old man.
Over 100 asylum seekers held on Turkey's Aegean coast
One hundred asylum seekers were held in the town of Çeşme in Turkey's Aegean province of Izmir, Turkish officials said on Aug. 9.

According to a statement from the Turkish Coast Guard Command, a sail boat was stopped off the coast of Alaçatı in Çeşme.
Turkey’s famous windsurfing spot draws attention with stone houses
Alaçatı, Turkey's leading spot in windsurfing and standing out with its architecture and authentic stone houses, is expected to have a dynamic tourism season this year.
Alaçatı, known as an infantry and cavalry village in the Ottoman period, is now one of the most popular tourist destinations in Turkey. Its historical stone houses and cobblestones are a symbol of the western town.
Herbs contribute to Aegean tourism
The 9th Alaçatı Herb Festival will be organized this year between April 5 and 9 in İzmir's popular coastal district of Çeşme's Alaçatı neighborhood. The event is expected to draw more than 1 million tourists to the town.
