Macedonia Busts 'Terrorism' Suspects in Armed Swoop
In the operation launched on Thursday morning in villages close to the Kosovo border, police arrested at least five people suspected of providing logistical help to the armed ethnic Albanian group that fought a bloody battle with security forces in Kumanovo in northern Macedonia in May.

Kosovo Imam Suspended For Insulting Albanian History
The Islamic Society of Kosovo, BIK, the country's main Muslim organisation, has suspended an imam from Prizren for a year for "insulting the Albanian nation".
"He has been publishing historical and statistical lies, and scientifically unreliable statistics about the population of Kosovo in the year 1445," Resul Rexhepi, the Secretary General of the BIK, said.
Germany Backs Probe Into Macedonia Bloodshed
Steinmeier told a joint press conference with his Albanian counterpart, Ditmir Bushati, in Berlin that Albania's call for an international probe was justified.
"Last week's incident scared Europe. We hope the situation will not escalate and the authorities in Macedonia will make efforts towards a full and transparent investigation," he said.

Serbian Leader Plans Historic Visit to Albania
Serbia's Prime Minister says he intends to visit Albania to improve regional relations, frayed by the recent violence in Kumanovo, Macedonia.
"For each of our countries it is important to invest in peace and stability in the region, so that what happened in Kumanovo does not happen again," Vucic said in Sarajevo, where he is participating in a business forum.

Russian Statement on Macedonia Infuriates Albania
Albania's Foreign Ministry on Monday said it had summoned the Russian ambassador, Alexander Karpushin, demanding clarification about a Russian statement on the recently reported armed incident in Macedonia.

EU Praises Albania's Integration Progress
"Albania has a clear European perspective and we discussed today the way forward in this process," Mogherini said on Tuesday after a meeting in Brussels with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.

BELGRADE -- The Serbian Foreign Ministry on Thursday in Belgrade handed a protest note to Albania's ambassador to Serbia, the ministry said in a statement.
The protest concerns Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama's statement about a future unification of Albania and Kosovo.
