Sabato De Sarno named new Gucci creative director

Italian designer Sabato De Sarno has been named the new creative director of Gucci and will unveil his first collection during Milan Fashion Week next September, Gucci and parent company Kering announced Saturday.

De Sarno has previously worked for Prada, Dolce & Gabbana and Valentino, where he was most recently fashion director overseeing both men's and women's collections.

Gucci launches Vault vintage site during Milan Fashion Week

Gucci on Sept. 25 launched an e-commerce site featuring refurbished vintage Gucci pieces alongside capsule collections by young designers chosen by Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele.

Michele said the project was born out of his life-long obsession with collecting fashion, including Gucci items before he ever joined the brand.

Yorgos Lanthimos adds his personal to Gucci men's cruise collection

Award-winning Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos has been recruited by Italian fashion giant Gucci to shoot its latest cruise collection for men.

The shoot for the Cruise 2020 lookbook took place at Rome's Capitoline Museums, famed, among other marvelous artifacts, for a Roman copy of the ancient Greek statue of Leda and the Swan.

Gucci Boss Pledges Firm to Go Fur Free in 2018

Luxury fashion brand Gucci will go fur-free from next year, the company's chief executive has announced.

Marco Bizzarri told a London College of Fashion event that the move was part of a commitment to "sustainability".

The Italian fashion house will make the changes from the brand's spring-summer 2018 collection and auction off all of its remaining animal fur items.
