Three suspects have been detained in an operation against a terror organization launched at dawn on Aug. 4 in multiple Istanbul districts. 

Police launched an operation against the outlawed Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C) early Aug. 4, during which they raided 13 addresses in Istanbul's Sultangazi, Ba?c?lar and Gaziosmanpa?a districts.

Turkey?s compulsory religious education classes in schools are again being debated, with the authorities saying that only Christian and Jewish students will be exempt from compulsory Sunni Islam courses at school.

A group of Alevi associations partnered with the E?itim-Sen teachers' union staged a rally on Feb. 8 in Istanbul's Kad?köy district against compulsory religion classes and forming the education system according to religious rules.

The biggest threat to the Turkish state cannot come from any of the minorities. Irrespective of how serious of threats may come from a minority, the Turkish state and nation is strong enough to stand against and deal with that menace. It may take decades, but no minority problem can be as serious a threat as the majority problem.

A group of Alevi associations have staged a protest against compulsory religion classes in Turkish schools, in front of the Education Ministry’s provincial building in Istanbul’s Cağaloğlu neighborhood
