City Tribute | Athens | September 12-18
The Greek Film Archive's Lais open-air cinema is hosting a tribute to movies shot in famous urban settings, showing 13 films shot in 11 cities. The program begins at 8.30 p.m. on Thursday with Wim Wenders' 1995 "Lisbon Story." Subsequent screenings will take place at 8.30 and 10.30 p.m.

English Theater Club | Athens | Sundays
The English Theater Club, the only dramatic society in Greece producing plays for children in English, will be on stage at the Altera Pars Theater on Sundays February 24, March 3, 17 and 31, and April 7 and 14. The club is presenting the classic fairy tale "Jack and the Beanstalk" in a production aimed at children aged 4-9. Shows start at noon this Sunday and next, and at 3 p.m.

The Hellenic Society for the Protection of the Environment and Cultural Heritage (ELLET) presents the 15th Panorama of Environment Films at the Film Archive (48 Iera Odos & Megalou Alexandrou, Kerameikos, tel 210.361.2046) on Wednesday and Thursday and at its own premises on Friday and Saturday. Pasolini Tribute | Athens | September 12-20
Italian master Pier Paolo Pasolini (1922-75) is the subject of an expansive tribute running at the Greek Film Archive's open-air screening area from September 12-20. Organized in cooperation with the Italian Embassy in Athens and the Italian Educational Institute, the tribute comprises 15 features and two shorts in new 35 mm film copies produced by Luce Cinecitta and Cineteca di Bologna.

Water cuts planned in Thessaloniki on Tuesday
Several areas near the center of Thessaloniki, northern Greece, will be without water for 10 hours on Tuesday from 8 a.m. due to repair works on a ruptured central water pipe.
The area to be affected is enclosed by the following streets: Vas. Georgiou A, M. Alexandrou, Vas. Olgas, Kaftantzoglou, Archeologikou Mouseiou Alexandrou Michailidis, Spartis and Velissariou.
