Bulgaria Keeps Spending Money on Burgas-Alexandroupolis Project Company

Bulgaria's Finance Ministry will allocate BGN 100 000 from its own budget to a capital hike of the project company created for the implementation of the suspended Burgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline project.

Bulgaria's Council of Ministers approved the expenditure on April 8, according to a publication of Trud daily.

Workman dies after falling off roof in Alexandroupoli

Police in Alexandroupoli were on Wednesday investigating the circumstances of the death of a 37-year-old laborer who had been repairing the tiled roof of a house in the city in northeastern Greece on Tuesday.

The worker, an Albanian national, was transferred to the city?s general hospital after falling off the roof but medics declared him dead on arrival.

Bulgaria, Greece to Build Rail Link between Black Sea, Aegean Sea Ports

Bulgaria and Greece will connect by rail the Greek ports of Kavala and Alexandroupoli on the Aegean Sea, the Bulgarian Black Sea ports of Burgas and Varna, and Port Ruse on the Danube River.

The implementation of the project will be launched very soon, with the concrete date to be announced by the Greek Embassy in Sofia.

One arrested in connection to Alexandroupoli businessman's murder


A 43-year-old Georgian man of Greek descent was arrested on Monday in connection with the murder of a businessman in Alexandroupoli, northeastern Greece, earlier in the day.

The 63-year-old victim was reportedly shot twice in the chest by two men on a motorcycle as he left his home in the village of Nea Hili.
