Two Iranian political heavyweights, ultra-conservative Ebrahim Raisi and moderate conservative Ali Larijani, on May 15 launched what may be the main battle in next month's presidential election.

Iran will not withdraw from the 2015 nuclear deal, Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said, quoted by news agencies. According to him, the EU has no legal basis to trigger the dispute mechanism in Iran's nuclear deal .

Mousavi even accused the conserned European countries that they did not respect their part of the deal. He said the EU's claims were unfounded.

North Korea offers Iran "to fight together against the injustice of the United States," Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said.
Earlier today, he sharply criticized US actions, including the nuclear deal with Tehran, reports sega. 

Iran's parliament voted on Aug. 13 to allocate $520 million to develop its missile programme to fight Washington's "adventurism" and sanctions, and to boost the foreign operations of the country's Revolutionary Guards.

The House of Representatives of the US Congress passed a bill to tighten sanctions against Russia, Iran and North Korea, the world agencies said.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani was bragging on March 13, saying the Turkish government was making "inappropriate statements" and advising it to "be wise." He even called on Iranian citizens to boycott Turkey. 

"There is terror in Turkey. It is not safe. Do not go there for the two-week Nevruz holiday," Larijani said.

Iran unveiled a new underground missile depot on Jan. 5 with state television showing Emad precision-guided missiles in store which the United States says can take a nuclear warhead and violate a 2010 U.N. Security Council resolution.

An Iranian court has sentenced Washington Post reporter Jason Rezaian to a prison term, the state news agency said on Nov. 22 quoting the judiciary spokesman, a case that is a sensitive issue in contentious U.S.-Iranian relations.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani hit out on June 14 at critics of his drive for a nuclear deal with major powers, saying they belittled the impact of sanctions on ordinary people.
