Building bonuses shot down by top court
The bonus in square meters and height under Greece's new Building Code was ruled unconstitutional in principle by the E Section of the Council of State, Greece's highest administrative court. The ruling concerned an appeal by the Alimos Municipality in southern Athens against a building permit for the construction of an apartment block.

Traffic measures due to controlled detonation in southern Athens
Special traffic regulations are to be implemented on Thursday in road sections of Alimos, Glyfada, Elliniko, and Argiroupoli, due to the planned controlled detonation of obsolete munitions.
Section of coastal road closed to detonate WWII bomb
An army bomb disposal unit was working on Thursday morning to set off a controlled explosion that will neutralize a World War II 500lb bomb that was found the day before in the southern Athenian suburb of Glyfada.
The unexploded ordnance was found during construction work at the old Elliniko airport, the site of a major property development project.

Seven arrested in police operation to smash extortion ring
Seven people were arrested in southern Athens on Monday in a large police operation to smash an organised crime syndicate involved in extortions and violence against business owners.
Reporters Without Borders hail Karaivaz arrests
Reporters Without Borders hailed the arrests of two men in connection to the 2021 murder of Greek journalist Giorgios Karaivaz with a statement released on social media on Saturday. Citing an article from Kathimerini English Edition, the international body called for the apprehension of all those involved in the case.

Explosive device goes off outside Alimos home
Police are investigating an attack with a homemade explosive device made of firecrackers and flammable liquid outside a home in the coastal suburb of Alimos south of Athens.
The explosion caused minor damage to the property and a car parked in the vicinity.
No injuries were reported.

Cold front sweeps through Greece, traffic disrupted in Attica
A cold front dubbed Leandros is hitting Greece with snow on Saturday, with power outages reported in the eastern part of Thessaloniki.
Regions as far south as Crete are expecting an onslaught heavy rain and strong winds that will last through Tuesday.
Alimos marina overhaul to start in four years’ time
It will take four years until work can begin on the radical facelift of the Alimos marina in southern Attica, as it is expected to take this long for all the necessary permits to be issued.
The contractor of the project is Nea Alimos Marina Development SA, a 100% subsidiary of Aktor Concessions, a member of the Ellaktor Group.
