Bosnia's Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Minister, Boris Tucic, on Thursday said that he had resigned, citing mounting pressure to allow sales of Bosnian ammunition to Ukraine.

Bosnia: Minister resigns over arms sales to Ukraine

BANJA LUKA -- Bosnia's minister of external trade and economic relations Boris Tucic has resigned "over the sale of arms from Bosnia-Herzegovina to Ukraine."

This was announced on Thursday in Banja Luka by the president of Bosnia's Serb entity, the RS, Milorad Dodik.

Rajko Vasic, former general secretary of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats, SNSD, rocked Bosnia's political scene over the weekend with a blog post that urged the party's leader Milorad Dodik to step down.

A recently-proposed plan for the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina hit its first snag less than a month after it was approved by EU's General Affairs Council, as the president of the Serb-dominated Bosnian entity of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, refused to back the crucial declaration.

The House of Representatives in the larger of Bosnia's two entities, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on December 29 adopted a decision on temporary financing of entity institutions for the first three months of 2015, as the annual budget is not yet ready.

BANJALUKA - Republika Srpska (RS) has a new government, headed by Zeljka Cvijanovic, who has embarked on her second term as prime minister.

At a parliamentary session that ended late Wednesday, 44 MPs voted for the government and 37 voted against. Also elected were the deputy parliament speakers, the RTRS reported.

Milorad Dodik, head of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats, SNSD - the main Serbian party in Bosnia's Republika Srpska entity - met Mirko Pavic and Petar Djokic, of the Democratic Peoples Alliance and the Socialist Party respectively, to divide up ministries in the new entity government.

Sefik Dzaferovic, of the [mainly Bosniak] Party of Democratic Action, SDA, was named president of the House of Representatives, one of two chambers of Bosnia's state-level parliament, in a vote at the first session on December 9.

After Dodik was named president of Republika Srpska and his party, the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats, SNSD, secured a majority in the entity's assembly, he proposed incumbent premier Cvijanovic to head the new government on Sunday.

The Serb-led entity's president is holding meetings on Wednesday with political parties that have MPs in the Republika Srpska assembly to agree on the composition of the new government.
