Gazprom to start new gas deliveries to China by end-2019

Russia will start supplying gas to China through a new pipeline by the end of 2019, state gas giant Gazprom said on July 4, as part of a mammoth $400-billion deal.

"Today a deal was signed...about the date of the start of gas deliveries through the 'Power of Siberia' pipeline. It is December 20, 2019," Gazprom boss Alexei Miller told journalists.

Gazprom Announces Launch of Construction of Turkish Stream Gas Pipeline

Gazprom has launched the construction of the sea section of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline, according to Alexei Miller, CEO of the Russian energy giant.

In a Friday interview for the Rossiya 24 TV Channel, Miller, as cited by the TASS news agency, announced that Gazprom had moved to the stage of construction of the sea stretch of Turkish Stream.

Russia and Turkey have signed a memorandum of understanding over the construction of a gas pipeline under the Black Sea that could effectively replace the stalled South Stream project.

The new pipeline will be able to carry 63 billion cubic metres (bcm) of gas per year to Turkey, the head of Russian gas giant Gazprom Alexey Miller told reporters in Ankara on Monday.

Russia's state-owned energy concern Gazprom could increase gas flow to China by 100 billion cubic meters on a yearly basis in the near future, CEO Alexey Miller said Tuesday.

"It was not long ago that we entered this marked by signing a very profitable contract under which we will have USD 400 B in thirty years. But this is just the beginning," ITAR-TASS quoted Miller as saying.

China, Russia Announce Historic Thirty-Year Gas Supply Deal

Russia's energy giant Gazprom and Chinese CNPC have signed a huge gas deliveries deal estimated at USD 400 B, following talks between state leaders.

The deal is expected to pump 1.14 trillion cubic meters of gas into China over the next thirty years and will provide some 38 bcm yearly, a fourth or fifth of what is delivered to Europe for the same period.
