Dutch exhibit raises tempers in Egypt
In a Dutch museum the sound of hip-hop blares out next to sarcophagi and statues, in what curators say is an attempt to show the influence of ancient Egypt on black musicians.
A photo of superstar Beyonce dressed as Queen Nefertiti sits next to ancient busts, while a video of Rihanna channels Egyptian styles.

Egypt archaeologists uncover ‘complete’ Roman city
Egyptian archaeologists said on Jan. 24 they had discovered an 1,800-year-old "complete residential city from the Roman-era" in the heart of the southern city of Luxor.
The city, dating to the second and third centuries, is the "oldest and most important city found on the eastern bank of Luxor," according to Mostafa Waziri, head of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities.

Egypt unveils ancient royal tomb in Luxor
Egyptian authorities announced on Jan. 14 the discovery of an ancient tomb in Luxor dating back around 3,500 years that archaeologists believe holds the remains of an 18th dynasty royal.

Arlette David | Athens | May 15
Dr Arlette David, a professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and member of Israel's Institute of Archaeology, will deliver a lecture on "Akhenaten's and Nefertiti's Monotheism: What the Images Reveal," at the Iconic Center. The lecture, which will be in English, is organized by the university, together with the Hellenic Institute of Egyptology and the Jewish Museum of Greece.

Her Mummy Is Still Missing
Anck-Su-Namun, the third of six known daughters of Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten and his Great Royal wife Nefertiti, was born in 1348 BC. Later, Anck-Su-Namun became the Great Royal wife of her half-brother Tutankhamun.

Mystic Egyptian seal found in Muğla
Excavations in the ancient city of Letoon in the western province of Muğla's Seydikemer district have unearthed a nearly 2,600 year-old Egyptian seal used in the ancient Egyptian dynasty. The seal is said to have importance as it shows commercial relations between the ancient Egyptian and the ancient Lycian civilizations.
