Stork population to be protected with artificial nests
Within the scope of a project to protect the stork population, efforts are being made to build artificial nests on electric poles in the Thrace region to prevent storks from getting electrocuted.

Man crushed by elevator in central Athens
A man was killed in the central Athens district of Pangrati on Monday after being crushed by an elevator, the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA) reported.
According to the report, two firefighters retrieved the man's body from the bottom of the elevator shaft of an apartment building on Laertou Street. His death was confirmed at a local hospital.

All-female band rocks on to inspire women across Turkey
Performing now for three years, all-female Turkish band Marla aims to inspire women to enter rock amid prejudice in the male-dominated genre.
The group's five members, all in their twenties, are based in Turkey's capital Ankara and have come together despite backgrounds in different disciplines from medicine to French literature.

Thessaloniki police search for armed raiders
Police in Thessaloniki Wednesday were seeking the perpetrators behind a street kiosk heist in the northern port city in the early hours of the morning.
According to the police, the robbery was carried out by two masked assailants, one of whom was wielding a gun.
The perpetrators fled with an undetermined sum in takings as well as sundry goods.
