Trump to Chicago: Fix 'carnage' or the feds are coming

U.S. President Donald Trump threatened late Jan. 24 to send in the "feds" if America's third-largest city of Chicago failed to bring its rampant crime rate under control.

The Republican, who made law and order a key issue in his White House campaign, cited the city's latest shooting and homicide statistics as reported by the Chicago Tribune.

The two Greek Oscar nominees!

 

This year the Oscars will have a Greek flavor as well! Two Greek artists as nominees: one for Original screenplay with George Lanthimos’ “The Lobster” and one for Documentary Short Subject with Daphne Matziaraki’s “4,1 Miles”.

The nominees were announced on Tuesday and the big night will be the 26th of February with the host being Jimmy Kimmel.

Orban: Trump Put an End to Multilateralism

Donald Trump's speech must be interpreted as an end to multilateralism, stated Hungarian PM Viktor Orban on the occasion of the first announcement of the new US President.

"This means that Hungary gets the right to defend its own interests first," said Orban.

According to the PM, Trump's statement means that all countries have the right to place their own interests first.

And now Europe faces the Trump test

One of the biggest economic threats that Donald Trump, inaugurated as the 45th US president on Friday, carries is the element of uncertainty. The fact that nobody is really sure what policies he is going to implement and what he wants to achieve makes it difficult to assess what his presidency could mean for the global economy.
